“I enjoy helping clients navigate the complex tax world, it is very rewarding on a personal and professional level.”

Life before ETC

I have recently completed my BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance at The University of Salford, which ultimately led me to a career in Tax. It was a four year degree which included a year-in-industry working at AJ Bell for my third year, where I dealt with various tax computations and queries. I then continued to work there part-time alongside my final year of studies.

Why a career in tax?

I studied Accounting and Finance at University and was specifically drawn towards the Business Taxation module in my final year. I also covered elements of tax compliance in my job at the time, which ultimately confirmed it was an area I wanted to expand my knowledge in.

Tax is constantly evolving, therefore I believed it would consistently challenge me and provide new learning opportunities on a daily basis.

I am highly motivated in helping others to achieve the best results. Therefore, by helping clients to navigate the complex tax world I think it will be very rewarding on a personal and professional level.

My best (and worst) bits

I think my strongest qualities are that I am highly organised, inquisitive and a hard worker. I always take pride in my work and try to go above and beyond expectations.

I can be a bit of a perfectionist – which has helped me achieve great things, but also means I can take on too much!
