Speaker
Andrew Wood
Andy was called to the bar in 2019 after learning his ‘trade’ in large, international accountancy firms including the Big 4.
Over a decade ago (2011 to be precise), hoping that some of the magic dust from these entrepreneurial clients had rubbed off on him, he established his own tax advisory business.
His clients, as well as the aforementioned entrepreneurs, also include high-net-worth individuals, sports persons and entertainers and private companies.
Following his call, Andy hopes that he can bring his own commercial experience, and strong problem-solving skills, to advising his clients at the bar.
He believes passionately that all clients should get clear and decisive advice that should be delivered in plain English.
He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation (Fellow) and the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (“STEP”).
He is also the author of the book, Cryptocurrencies and other other digital assets: Tax Law and Practice published by Claritax Books. The first of its kind covering the taxation of cryptoassets in the UK.
ETC Tax are a specialist tax advisory firm with two specific aims:
– To make tax advice more accessible and more effective in meeting the needs of SMEs, OMBs, entrepreneurs and high net worth individuals.
– To help other professional advisers provide a full service offering to their clients, and ultimately to help them enhance and grow their practices.
Our tax team is made up of a group of highly experienced Chartered Tax Advisers who have a wealth of tax experience, mostly gained at Big 4 and Top Ten accountancy firms. We pride ourselves on delivering complex tax advice in a commercial and ‘user friendly’ way.
