Phew – what a crazy week.!! Nearly the weekend. Here’s a round-up of some of the work we have been doing:
• Preparation of submissions to HMRC under the Disguised Remuneration Settlement Opportunity in respect of contractor loans and employee benefit trusts
• Making a submission under the Worldwide Disclosure Facility in respect of a UK company’s historic liabilities in relation to offshore matters.
• Preparing a response to a HMRC tax fraud investigation under Code of Practice 9
• Undertaking an inheritance tax and estate planning exercise for a recently retired couple with property interests in the UK and overseas
• Advising on succession planning for a family business and, in particular, the tax structuring of a proposed buyout of the founders by the next generation
