Our own Andy Wood was on Sky Sports today (6th September 2017) talking about the current trend of professional footballers in Spain being found guilty of image right tax evasion.

Does the UK’s tax system mean we will soon seen an influx of Spanish football players?

• Image rights must be declared in Spain for tax purposes. This is not the case in the UK.
• In a clampdown, Spanish authorities are investigating some of the world’s biggest football stars for tax avoidance for alleged failure to declare.
• A number have been found guilty and passed custodial sentences.
• The UK offers relatively attractive tax benefits for foreign football players – and other foreign workers – by leaving foreign income (Capital Gains) overseas.
